Trevor McLeod - Elbow pain
I was struggling with pain in my elbow and I was struggling to lift any of my tools, it made work almost impossible. Luckily Liz was able to help! She was able to asses the area and quickly get the right treatment in. I had 3 sessions of Shockwaves and some additional rehabilitation and now my arm is great! It's amazing how much I relied on my arm and didnt realise! I'm very grateful to BODY FIRST UK and Liz, I can't recommend more highly.

How does it work
Shock Waves are movements of extremely high pressure caused by, for example, an explosion, an earthquake or a plane breaking the sound barrier. In this equipment the same concept is applied but in a much smaller application. These shockwaves harmlessly move through the skin and onto the site of injury where they stimulate cellular healing, enhance blood flow and help remove inflammatory cells involved in pain production.
What to expect
Your therapist will need access to the painful area and may ask you to remove items of clothing for this. The treatment can be painful at times and may create a redness of irritation for up to 36 hours. If you experience any of these issue please let you therapist know and they can ensure this is an expected reaction.
